21st Century Tutoring Before / Afterschool Program
Program Coordinator: Ms. Mary Stevenson (email)
What is 21st CCLC Program?
Wright was awarded a 5-year grant to fund a 21st Century Community Learning Center after school program. This is a federally funded program that helps students who need academic assistance in reading and math meet the core standards. This grant funds before and after school and summer school programs. The intent of the grant is to assist students in increasing academic achievement through after school classes and family engagement. The program’s effectiveness is measured based on participation and the improved academic achievement of participating students.Students with academic needs are given priority, then the program will be filled based on the space available. This is the reason for the invitation process. We hope to accept all the students who apply, though we cannot guarantee they will get their first choice classes. 21st Century Community Learning Centers grants are awarded through a competitive process by the Arizona Department of Education from funding provided by the U.S. Department of Education.
